I know I'm right about Lululemon's racism because nobody wants to talk to me about it
My Boycott Lululemon until they change their racist, anti-Asian name is only 7 signatures away from 500!
Thank you for signing my petition and spreading the word.
Lululemon corporate is ignoring us, which isn't surprising. Lululemon's ambassadors, even those I've known for years, are shunning me, despite my attempts to make it clear that this is about Lululemon's corporate leaders, not their ambassadors. There is a contingent of runners, Gary Cantrell and his supporters, who are spreading lies about me and ignoring my requests for conversations. On the other hand, there is the contingent of prominent runners, activists and groups that have aligned themselves with brands in order to increase BIPOC representation in the industry. Because I've been critical of brands coopting activism, the running activists and groups also refuse to talk to me. People in each group don't want to risk their relationships with their communities and their livelihoods as brand ambassadors. I'm sympathetic, but it still stings. This is a familiar loneliness. I felt it when my classmates ganged up on me, one of the only Chinese boys in their elementary school. I felt it in college, when my dormmates targeted me, and other students who might have supported me were angry that I called out their passivity. I felt it when Asian Americans shunned me for calling out their anti-Blackness.
This is all to say that I'm grateful for those of you who support me and are willing to engage.
Thank you.
I had to create a new website because Lululemon isn't just anti-Asian- they're also anti-Black and anti-Muslim. So my new website is Lululemon Is Racist. Check it out and send me feedback.
Have a joyful, restful New Years, and let's keep fighting in 2024.
